The Department of Management, Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Professional Studies (SSIPS), Raipur, organized a five-day induction programme, “Deeksharambh 2026–27,” to welcome newly admitted students and introduce them to the academic, cultural, and professional environment of the institution. The programme was conducted on 6, 7, 8, 10, and 11 August 2026, with a focus on facilitating students’ transition from school life to higher education and preparing them for a successful college journey.
The induction programme was designed to provide students with opportunities to interact with faculty members, understand institutional values, explore academic facilities, and develop essential skills. Through academic sessions, expert interactions, personality development activities, sports, and cultural programmes, Deeksharambh aimed to nurture confident, responsible, and future-ready management professionals.
Day 1: Campus Orientation and Academic Excellence
The programme commenced on 6 August 2026 with an inaugural session titled “Know Your Campus: Let the Journey Begin,” conducted by Mr. Mallikarjun and Mr. Rajeev Gupta. The session familiarized students with the campus facilities, academic environment, support systems, and institutional ethos.
Dr. Amit Das, Coordinator, conducted a session on “NEP 2020: Reshaping Education for the Future,” highlighting the importance of student-centric learning, flexible educational opportunities, credit-based evaluation, and skill development. Dr. Aparajita Joy Nandi delivered a session on academic excellence, emphasizing discipline, time management, goal setting, and effective study habits.
Dr. Manoj Sharma, Principal, SSIPS, addressed students on “Foundation of Excellence: Building Strong Roots for Future Success,” encouraging them to develop positive values, confidence, and a growth-oriented mindset. Dr. Dhirendra Kumar Kshatriya, Dean Academic, conducted a session on academic excellence, motivating students to pursue continuous learning and remain committed to their academic and career goals. The day concluded with memory power challenges and ice-breaking activities that encouraged interaction, teamwork, and friendship among students.
Day 2: Academic Learning and Personality Development
On 7 August 2026, the second day focused on academic learning, career awareness, and personality development. Mr. Rajeev Gupta conducted a session on Financial Accounting, introducing students to fundamental accounting concepts and their importance in business and management.
This was followed by a Training and Placement session conducted by CS Mahima Singh, who familiarized students with placement opportunities, career preparation, and essential professional skills. The highlight of the day was “Sound Check for Success,” an interactive session conducted by RJ Animesh. The session emphasized effective communication, confidence, self-expression, and personality development, encouraging students to express their thoughts clearly and confidently.
Day 3: Communication, Creativity and Critical Thinking
The third day, held on 8 August 2026, featured interactive activities designed to enhance students’ communication, analytical thinking, general awareness, and public-speaking abilities.
Mr. Rajeev Gupta conducted a Debate Session that encouraged students to present logical arguments, analyse different perspectives, and respect opposing viewpoints. Dr. Aparajita Joy Nandi organized a Business Quiz to enhance students’ knowledge of business, management, and current affairs. Ms. Sakshi Singh conducted an Extempore Session, providing students with an opportunity to improve spontaneous speaking, vocabulary, confidence, and presentation skills.
Students from the third and fifth semesters actively volunteered and supported the smooth execution of the activities. Their involvement strengthened interaction between senior and newly admitted students and promoted teamwork and a sense of community.
Days 4 and 5: Sports, Culture and Team Spirit
The fourth and fifth days of the programme were conducted on 10 and 11 August 2026, respectively, with an emphasis on extracurricular participation, sports, cultural expression, and holistic development.
Students participated in indoor and outdoor activities, including Carrom, Chess, Table Tennis, Badminton, Basketball, and Match the Colour. These activities promoted physical fitness, concentration, coordination, teamwork, and healthy competition.
Cultural and interactive activities, including Singing, Group Discussion, and Debate, provided students with opportunities to showcase their talents, exchange ideas, and develop interpersonal and communication skills. Enthusiastic participation created a vibrant atmosphere of creativity, cooperation, and mutual understanding.
Outcomes and Conclusion
Deeksharambh 2026–27 successfully introduced newly admitted students to the academic environment, institutional expectations, and opportunities available at SSIPS, Raipur. The programme encouraged active participation, confidence building, leadership, discipline, communication, and teamwork while providing a balanced combination of academic learning and extracurricular engagement.
The five-day induction programme concluded on a positive note, laying a strong foundation for students’ academic, personal, and professional growth. Through this initiative, the Department of Management reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing innovative thinkers, effective communicators, responsible leaders, and competent management professionals prepared to meet future challenges.
