The Department of Science (Computer Science) at Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Professional Studies (SSIPS), Raipur, organized the induction program “Deeksharambh 2026–27” for first-semester B.Sc. students from 6 August to 11 August 2026. The program was designed to introduce students to the academic environment, institutional culture, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
The program aimed to familiarize students with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP-2020), academic expectations, career opportunities, emerging technologies, and the importance of communication and interpersonal skills. It included sessions on academic excellence, motivation, training and placement, SWAYAM/NPTEL certificate courses, computer science, mathematics, and sports activities.
The induction program provided students with opportunities to interact with experienced faculty members and resource persons, develop confidence, understand their academic responsibilities, and prepare for a successful college journey.

- New Education Policy (NEP-2020) and Campus Orientation
Dr. Pramisha Sharma conducted a session on “Shaping Education for the 21st Century Learner.” She explained the vision of NEP-2020, emphasizing multidisciplinary education, creativity, innovation, vocational learning, research, and holistic development.
Ms. Sandhya Bhattacharya, Head of the Department of Computer Science, SSIPS, conducted a session on campus rules and regulations. Students were guided on punctuality, discipline, attendance, cleanliness, safety, and respectful behaviour within the institution.
- Academic Excellence and Motivational Sessions
Dr. Manoj Sharma, Principal, SSIPS, conducted the session “Foundation of Excellence: Building Strong Roots for Future Success.” He highlighted the importance of discipline, strong values, perseverance, confidence, and continuous improvement.
Dr. Dhirendra Singh Kshatriya conducted the session “Academic Excellence: Strive for Knowledge, Excel in Performance.” He guided students on goal setting, time management, self-study, note-making, and effective utilization of academic resources.
Ms. Shipra Chawla conducted a motivational session titled “Fuel Your Mind, Chase Your Dreams.” The session encouraged students to believe in themselves, overcome challenges, remain focused, and work consistently towards their goals.
RJ Animesh conducted an interactive session, “Welcome to the Age of Possibilities,” focusing on communication skills, confidence-building, overcoming stage fear, and developing a positive mindset.
- Training and Placement and Certificate Courses
CS Mahima Singh Thakur conducted the session “Prepare, Perform and Get Placed.” The session introduced students to career preparation, resume writing, interview skills, professional communication, teamwork, and the importance of technical knowledge in the competitive job market.
Mr. Shubham Dewangan, Centralized Coordinator, NPTEL/Swayam Certification , conducted a session on SWAYAM/NPTEL certificate courses. Students were introduced to online learning opportunities and the importance of professional certifications in e
nhancing knowledge, developing industry-relevant skills, and improving career prospects.
- Computer Science and Mathematics Sessions
Ms. Sandhya Bhattacharya, HOD of Computer Science, SSIPS, conducted the session “Where Ideas Meet Technology.” She introduced students to computing, programming, logical thinking, algorithms, problem-solving, and the role of technology in developing practical solutions.
Ms. S. Joshna, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, conducted the session “Every Problem Has a Solution – That’s Maths.” The session highlighted the importance of mathematics in logical reasoning, analytical thinking, creativity, and scientific applications. Through real-life examples and problem-solving activities, students were encouraged to develop confidence in mathematics and understand its applications in computer science, engineering, economics, and research.
- Fun Activities and Sports Sessions
Interactive activities were conducted by Mr. Shubham Dewangan, Ms. Manisha Dewangan, Ms. Tulasi Sen, and Mr. Vicky Sachdev. Games such as Win the Last Minute and Passing the Parcel encouraged student participation, communication, teamwork, and peer interaction.
The sports sessions, coordinated under the guidance of Mr. Ajit Pandey and Ms. Manisha Dewangan, included indoor and outdoor games such as chess, carrom, table tennis, badminton, volleyball, cricket, and athletics. These activities promoted physical fitness, discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy competition.
