The Department of Management, Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Professional Studies (SSIPS), Raipur, organized a Plantation Drive at Dhondara Village, Raipur, on 22 August 2026 under the coordination of Mr. Rajeev Gupta. The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness, encourage tree plantation, and motivate BBA students and community members to contribute towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.
The programme was conducted from 10:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., witnessing the active participation of 50 BBA students along with faculty members. The initiative focused on highlighting the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance, improving air quality, conserving biodiversity, reducing pollution, and addressing the challenges of climate change.
The programme began with an awareness session emphasizing the significance of environmental protection and the need to increase green cover for a healthier and more sustainable future. BBA students and faculty members actively participated in planting saplings at selected locations within the village and its surrounding areas. Under the guidance of Activity Coordinator Mr. Rajeev Gupta, the participants worked together to make the plantation activity meaningful and impactful.

Along with planting saplings, the BBA students interacted with villagers and spread awareness about the environmental benefits of trees. They encouraged community members to plant more trees and take responsibility for protecting and nurturing the saplings. The initiative highlighted that tree plantation is not merely a one-day activity but a continuous responsibility that requires collective efforts and long-term commitment.
The Plantation Drive also provided BBA students with an opportunity to develop social responsibility, teamwork, leadership, and community engagement skills. Their participation demonstrated how educational institutions can contribute to society by organizing activities that connect academic learning with practical environmental initiatives.
The villagers appreciated the efforts of the students and faculty members and expressed their support for the initiative. Faculty members guided and motivated the participants throughout the programme, encouraging them to remain actively involved in environmental protection and other community-oriented activities.
The Plantation Drive concluded with a message emphasizing the collective responsibility of individuals and communities to protect nature and preserve the environment for future generations. The successful completion of the programme reflected the institution’s commitment to environmental awareness, social responsibility, and sustainable development.
Through this initiative, the Department of Management, SSIPS, Raipur, reinforced the importance of community participation in environmental conservation and encouraged BBA students to become responsible citizens who actively contribute towards building a greener, cleaner, and healthier society.
