The Department of Management, Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Professional Studies (SSIPS), Raipur, organized an Industrial Visit to Adani Power, Tilda, Chhattisgarh, with the objective of providing students with meaningful experiential learning and practical exposure to the functioning of a large-scale industrial organization. The initiative aimed to strengthen the industry–academia interface and enable students to understand the practical application of management concepts and theories studied in their academic curriculum.
The visit was conducted in two phases to facilitate the participation of students from different semesters. On 31 August 2026, 42 students of BBA III and V Semesters, accompanied by three faculty members, visited the Adani Power plant. On 1 September 2026, 57 students of BBA I Semester, accompanied by three faculty members, participated in the industrial visit. Thus, a total of 99 students and six faculty members benefited from this two-day academic initiative.
During the visit, students gained exposure to various aspects of the power generation process, plant operations, industrial infrastructure, workflow management, safety practices, and organizational systems. They had the opportunity to understand how different functional activities are coordinated within a large industrial establishment. The visit highlighted the importance of systematic planning, modern technology, human resource management, coordination, and operational efficiency in achieving organizational objectives.
The industrial exposure also helped students develop a better understanding of workplace discipline, professional conduct, safety protocols, teamwork, effective communication, and organizational responsibility. It provided an opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge gained in subjects such as Management, Operations Management, Human Resource Management, Business Environment, and Organizational Behaviour with actual industrial practices. This practical exposure helped students appreciate the significance of managerial decision-making, resource utilization, and coordination in the effective functioning of an organization.
Furthermore, the visit encouraged students to develop industry awareness, observational skills, practical understanding, and a professional outlook. It enabled them to move beyond classroom-based learning and gain insights into the challenges, operational requirements, and professional expectations associated with managing industrial activities. Such initiatives also help students understand potential career opportunities and prepare themselves for future employment.
The industrial visit was aligned with the institution’s commitment to student-centric and experiential learning. It contributed to enhancing students’ academic understanding, practical competencies, industry readiness, and holistic development.
