Raipur, September 22, 2026: The NSS Unit of Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Professional Management and Technology (SSIPMT), Raipur, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a One-Day Camp on September 22, 2026, at its adopted village Palaud, Abhanpur, to create awareness among local residents about online fraud and cyber safety.
A total of 30 NSS volunteers actively participated in the camp and conducted a door-to-door awareness campaign across the village. The volunteers interacted directly with residents and educated them about various forms of cyber fraud that are increasingly affecting people during everyday digital transactions.

During the campaign, the volunteers explained common cyber frauds such as OTP fraud, phishing, fake links, UPI scams, and fraudulent calls. They explained how cybercriminals use deceptive messages, calls, and links to obtain sensitive financial and personal information.
The volunteers also highlighted essential cyber safety practices and advised residents to never share OTPs, PINs, passwords, bank account details, or other confidential information with unknown persons. Residents were also encouraged to avoid clicking on suspicious links or responding to unverified messages and calls.
The awareness programme further emphasized the importance of taking immediate action in case of online fraud. Residents were encouraged to promptly report cyber-related incidents to the appropriate authorities and seek assistance through official channels.

Through this initiative, the NSS Unit of SSIPMT, in collaboration with IQAC, contributed towards strengthening digital awareness and cyber safety among rural communities. Such community-oriented initiatives provide NSS volunteers with valuable opportunities to engage with society while promoting responsible and safe use of digital technologies.
