Raipur, September 24, 2026: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), SSIPMT Raipur, organised a six-hour Internet of Things (IoT) workshop on September 24, 2026, at LH-05, New Academic Block.
The workshop focused on introducing students to the fundamentals of IoT, connected devices, sensors, communication technologies, automation and emerging applications. It also highlighted how IoT can be used to develop smart and connected solutions for real-world challenges.

Students Gain Practical Insights into IoT
Mr. Mayank Banchhor, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, served as the trainer for the workshop. He conducted the technical session and provided students with insights into important IoT concepts and their practical applications.

The session encouraged students to understand how connected technologies can be used to create innovative solutions. Discussions on sensors, communication technologies, automation and smart systems helped participants gain a broader understanding of the rapidly growing field of Internet of Things.
38 Students Participate in the Workshop
A total of 38 students participated in the IoT workshop and gained exposure to emerging technologies, connected devices, smart systems and automation.

The interactive session also encouraged students to explore innovative ideas and consider IoT-based solutions for academic projects and real-world applications. The practical orientation of the workshop helped participants strengthen their technical knowledge and develop an interest in emerging technologies.
Faculty Coordination and Learning Outcomes
Dr. Suman Kumar Swarnkar, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, served as the Faculty Coordinator for the workshop.
The workshop concluded successfully with active participation from students. The programme provided participants with valuable knowledge about Internet of Things technology and its applications while encouraging them to explore innovative ideas in the field of smart and connected systems.
