Raipur, July 29, 2026: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), SSIPMT Raipur, organised a three-hour Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Innovation-Driven Teaching and Learning Practices” on July 29, 2026.
The programme aimed to empower faculty members with innovative pedagogical approaches, emerging educational technologies and student-centric teaching methodologies. The FDP focused on transforming conventional classroom practices through technology-enabled, experiential and outcome-based learning approaches.
Mr. Vaibhav Chandrakar, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, attended the programme as the Faculty Coordinator.
FDP Focuses on Innovative Teaching Practices
The programme was conducted by Dr. Apurva Verma, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SSIPMT Raipur. The sessions focused on bridging the gap between academia and industry by integrating active learning strategies, Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital tools, project-based learning and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) into classroom teaching.

Faculty members gained insights into designing engaging learning experiences, implementing modern assessment techniques and creating an innovation-driven academic environment that prepares students for the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
Key Objectives of the Programme
The FDP focused on several key objectives, including:
- Familiarising faculty members with innovative and student-centric teaching-learning methodologies.
- Promoting the effective use of AI tools, digital platforms and educational technologies in classroom teaching.
- Enhancing faculty competencies in active, experiential and project-based learning.
- Strengthening Outcome-Based Education (OBE) through modern assessment and evaluation techniques.

Faculty Members Gain Practical Learning Insights
The programme provided faculty members with a better understanding of modern pedagogical approaches and technology-enabled teaching practices. Participants explored the use of AI-powered tools and digital technologies to enhance classroom instruction and student engagement.
The sessions also highlighted interactive and project-based learning, continuous assessment, rubric-based evaluation and outcome-oriented teaching practices. These approaches can help faculty members create more engaging learning experiences while strengthening students’ problem-solving, creativity and critical-thinking skills.
FDP Highlights Emerging Educational Technologies
The programme covered contemporary teaching models and technologies, including flipped classrooms, project-based learning, collaborative programming, gamified learning, AI-assisted education, virtual laboratories, cloud-based development environments and smart assessment systems.
The sessions also emphasised the importance of industry-academia collaboration, curriculum mapping with professional certifications, continuous evaluation and institutional initiatives that promote innovation and research.
Faculty members actively participated in discussions, shared teaching practices and explored practical strategies for improving classroom effectiveness. The programme encouraged participants to adopt innovative approaches that can contribute to student engagement, employability and academic excellence.
20 Faculty Members Participate
A total of 20 participants attended the Faculty Development Programme. The three-hour programme was conducted in offline mode and provided an interactive platform for faculty members to exchange ideas and explore modern approaches to teaching and learning.
The programme concluded with a focus on developing future-ready educators who can inspire creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving and lifelong learning among students through innovative teaching practices.

About the Resource Person
Dr. Apurva Verma, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at SSIPMT Raipur, is actively involved in teaching, research and academic development. His areas of interest include software engineering, emerging technologies and innovative problem-solving approaches.
He has contributed to research through publications in national and international journals and conferences and has participated in various Faculty Development Programmes, workshops and seminars. He has also delivered expert lectures and served as a resource person at technical events.
Dr. Verma has guided student projects and encouraged participation in research, hackathons and startup-related activities. He is also involved in departmental coordination, curriculum development and institutional initiatives related to research, accreditation and innovation, including the Institution’s Innovation Council.
