Raipur, August 19, 2026: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), SSIPMT Raipur, organised a Hands-on Workshop on Rapid Prototyping and Product Development on August 19, 2026. The offline workshop was conducted from 9:00 AM to 12:20 PM at CSE Lab-03, Academic Block.
The workshop aimed to provide students with practical knowledge of rapid prototyping, product design and development. It focused on developing design thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills while encouraging participants to transform innovative ideas into functional prototypes.
Workshop Highlights Rapid Prototyping and Design Thinking
The programme began with a welcome address and opening remarks, followed by an introduction to the resource person and an overview of the workshop. The introductory session covered the fundamentals of rapid prototyping and product development, including product ideation, design thinking and problem identification.

Dr. Suman Kumar Swarnkar, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SSIPMT Raipur, served as the Faculty Coordinator. Ms. Poonam Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, served as the resource person and guided participants through the workshop’s technical and practical aspects.
Hands-on Sessions Provide Practical Learning
The workshop featured two hands-on sessions designed to provide practical exposure to prototyping techniques, development tools and product design processes. Participants actively engaged in practical activities and explored how initial ideas could be developed into prototypes.
A demonstration and interactive question-and-answer session further helped participants understand the practical aspects of rapid prototyping and clarify their queries. The activities encouraged students to approach product development systematically, from identifying a problem and generating ideas to designing and developing a prototype.
58 Participants Gain Product Development Skills
A total of 58 participants attended the workshop and gained practical insights into rapid prototyping, product design and development processes.
The sessions encouraged creativity, innovation-oriented thinking and effective problem-solving. Participants also gained an understanding of how prototyping concepts can be applied to academic projects, hackathons and entrepreneurial initiatives.

The workshop aimed to build confidence among students to experiment with ideas, explore possible solutions and develop practical products to address real-world challenges.
Workshop Encourages Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The programme concluded with participant feedback, interaction, a vote of thanks and closing remarks. The workshop provided a valuable learning opportunity for students to understand the role of rapid prototyping in turning innovative concepts into practical solutions.
Through this initiative, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Institution’s Innovation Council at SSIPMT Raipur reinforced their commitment to promoting experiential learning, innovation and product development. Such activities encourage students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and apply their technical knowledge to practical challenges.
