The Department of Management at Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Professional Studies (SSIPS), Raipur, organized a guest lecture on “Financial Literacy – Investment Awareness and Alternatives” on 19 August 2026 at the Mini Auditorium, SSIPS, Raipur. The programme was organized in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
The session featured CA Vikas Golchha, Chairman of the ICAI Raipur Branch, CFCA, CS, DISA, GST and Indirect Tax Expert, and National GST Faculty, ICAI, as the resource person. The lecture was conducted from 09:45 AM to 11:00 AM and was attended by BBA III and V Semester students.
The primary objective of the session was to enhance students’ financial literacy and develop their understanding of investment opportunities, financial planning, and risk management. CA Golchha explained the importance of budgeting, savings, long-term wealth creation, and portfolio diversification. He also introduced various investment alternatives and highlighted the need to evaluate risks and returns before making investment decisions.
The resource person discussed practical aspects of financial management and explained taxation and GST concepts in simple, understandable language. Real-life examples helped students understand the importance of informed financial decisions and responsible money management. The interactive session encouraged students to raise questions about investment strategies, market risks, and personal financial planning. Their queries were addressed with practical insights and examples.
The lecture proved informative and beneficial, equipping students with valuable knowledge of financial planning and investment awareness. It encouraged them to develop sound financial habits and make informed financial decisions for their future.
