Raipur, July 28, 2026: The Department of Civil Engineering, Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Professional Management and Technology (SSIPMT), Raipur, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized an expert lecture on “Emerging Technologies in Civil Engineering” on July 28, 2026.
The session was delivered by Mr. Kanha Dewangan, Site Engineer, EkNumber Sauda, who shared valuable insights into emerging technologies transforming the civil engineering and construction industry. The lecture covered topics such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), Artificial Intelligence (AI), drone-based surveying, automation, digital project management, prefabrication, modular construction, and sustainable infrastructure development.
The programme included an interactive question-and-answer session, where students discussed industry trends, software applications, and career opportunities with the expert. A total of 42 students and 6 faculty members participated in the event.
The lecture helped bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practices by exposing students to modern construction technologies and the skills required in the evolving civil engineering profession. Through such industry-oriented initiatives, SSIPMT, Raipur, continues to promote innovation, practical learning, and technological readiness among its students.
