Raipur, August 18, 2026: The Department of Civil Engineering, Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Professional Management and Technology (SSIPMT), Raipur, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organised a panel discussion titled “Blueprints to Business – A Civil Innovation & Startup” to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and industry-oriented thinking among Civil Engineering students.
The programme witnessed the participation of 60 students and nine faculty members and staff. The session was coordinated by Mr. Divyarth Manas under the guidance of Dr. Tarun Kumar Rajak.
The panel featured industry experts Mr. Mohnish Sinha, Director, Trigno Architect, and Mr. Sanjeeb Mondal, Director, 3T Developers, who shared valuable insights and experiences from the fields of innovation, architecture, construction and entrepreneurship.
During the discussion, the experts highlighted the importance of identifying real-world challenges and developing innovative solutions. Students were introduced to the application of design thinking as a tool for understanding problems, developing ideas and creating practical solutions.
The panel also explored emerging opportunities for Civil Engineering professionals in areas such as sustainable construction, smart infrastructure and project management. The discussion encouraged students to look beyond conventional career paths and consider entrepreneurship as a means of addressing challenges in the construction and infrastructure sectors.
An interactive question-and-answer session provided students with an opportunity to directly engage with the industry experts and seek guidance on innovation, startup development, professional opportunities and challenges in the civil engineering sector.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. The session provided students with practical exposure to industry perspectives while strengthening the connection between academic learning and real-world applications.
Through such initiatives, SSIPMT Raipur continues to promote innovation, industry-academia collaboration and entrepreneurial thinking, helping future civil engineers develop the skills and mindset required to contribute to the evolving construction and infrastructure ecosystem.
